SINEC Security Guard is intuitive, cloud-based cybersecurity software that provides industrial operators of Siemens OT assets with complete risk visibility and security management integrated into one tool. SINEC Security Guard is available as Software-as-a-Service ("SaaS") and provides automated vulnerability mapping, risk-based threat assessment and intrusion detection in industrial automation networks.
By automatically evaluating the security advisories of manufacturers, SINEC Security Guard enables assignment of vulnerability information to the actual assets (devices such as PLCs, switches, other network components, etc.) in the network. The integrated zone concept takes into account criticality and physical embedding in the OT network and contributes to the risk-based threat analysis of the reported vulnerabilities derived from an extensive database of known vulnerabilities. This serves as a starting point for prioritizing and planning mitigation measures such as firmware updates or workarounds in a task management system.
The detected vulnerabilities, security events and threats are visualized in an intuitive dashboard that provides a live overview of the current security situation at any time. This dashboard is tailored to the needs of OT in the industrial environment.
The OT assets of your plant can be recorded as a digital inventory via an Asset Scan, e.g. with the optional additional SaaS offer IAH (Industrial Asset Hub, Introduction - IAH User Documentation (industrial-assets.io)), or imported into the SINEC Security Guard via a public API through a CSV file already available at the customer's site. The optional Asset Scan Service (e.g. with Industrial Asset Hub) as well as the SINEC Security Guard Sensor for attack detection are provided as Industrial Edge application at the site and require an Internet connection to the cloud service. The asset data as well as vulnerability and attack information are provided in the cloud service. As a result, updates on vulnerability information and attack signatures are always kept current by the cloud service provider (Siemens AG) and no update work is required on your part.
SINEC Security Guard is available as a subscription model, including all updates of the software and the intelligence database (database containing vulnerabilities, signatures, etc.). Thanks to the modular offering based on the number of Siemens OT assets to be monitored as well as functional requirements, you purchase exactly what is needed to implement your use cases. Due to the availability in the cloud, workload for installation and updates can be kept to a minimum. The commissioning and expansion or optimization of the system can optionally be offered by experts from Siemens' Professional Services for Industrial Networks.
SINEC Security Guard is more than just cybersecurity for your business.
Every day, new security vulnerabilities are discovered and cyber criminals develop ways to exploit them. SINEC Security Guard helps you maintain an overview of the visibility of threats to your OT network and respond efficiently to reported threats.
SINEC Security Guard …
- was developed to help you meet the ever-increasing requirements of official cybersecurity regulations, such as the EU's NIS2 Directive, the German IT Security Act 2.0, and more.
- is an industrial Vulnerability Management System designed specifically for OT needs.
- makes vulnerabilities of Siemens OT assets transparent and provides support in eliminating them.
- has signature-based intrusion detection to help you detect signatures of known attacks, such as malware distribution or man-in-the-middle attacks.
- provides a user-friendly interface that ensures easy use and makes it possible for personnel without in-depth cybersecurity know-how to quickly obtain an overview of the relevant threats for the existing factory infrastructure.
- can be implemented in complex, highly segmented network and factory environments to support your use cases.
- does not interfere with ongoing production.
By intensifying safety monitoring, SINEC Security Guard makes a fundamental contribution to avoiding security risks and their consequences, including physical damage, possible reputation damage, and financial losses.
