Motion Control System SIPLUS based on SIMOTION

SIMOTION is the motion control system from SIEMENS for applications with complex motion control. It supplements the range of automation products in addition to SIMATIC and SINUMERIK. SIMOTION allows the handling of extensive motion functions as well as PLC and technology functions scalable in a Motion ActiveX Control system on several hardware platforms and with a common engineering system. SIMOTION allows significantly greater flexibility in machine planning and design. This allows the further optimization of the overall costs for machine development.

The Motion Control System SIPLUS is based on SIMOTION and encompasses hardened hardware components for extended environmental requirements and environmental stress.

The SIMOTION system is made up of three components

• Engineering system
  It enables Motion Control, PLC and technological functions to be incorporated into one comprehensive, integrated system and makes the required tools available. From programming and parameter assignment, testing and commissioning through to diagnostics.
• Runtime software modules
  They make the various Motion Control and technology functions available. The overall functionality of the system can be customized absolutely individually to the machinery by selecting the corresponding modules.
• Hardware platforms
  They complete the SIMOTION system. The application created with the engineering system and the corresponding Runtime software modules can be used on different hardware platforms. Meaning that the platform best suited to the machinery is always available.
