The Monitoring & Control system of SIMATIC PCS neo enables secure and reliable guidance of the process by the operating personnel. The engineering system supports you in configuring the user interface with modern editors for designing individual process displays, as well as a clearly structured process display hierarchy.
The graphic editor is an integral component of the Engineering Workbench and contains all relevant functions (e.g. cut, copy, align, mirror, rotate, etc.) of modern graphics software.
The supplied libraries offer a large selection of prefabricated graphic elements, e.g. pipes, vessels, valves and actuators. You have the option to make properties of the graphic elements dynamic (direct dynamization, animation, process-value scaling).
In addition, customer-specific graphic objects can also be integrated into the project and used.

Process display
As well as the prefabricated graphic elements, the system gives you the option to place extended objects (e.g. for customer-specific alarm lists, trend displays or output fields) in the process displays and configure them.
Block icons (Monitoring & Control facet of the process object instance) can be placed directly in the desired position in the process display by drag-and-drop from the PO instance in the equipment hierarchy. They are implicitly connected with the AS facet in the automation system. You can configure the process displays very efficiently in this way.
The property page in the sidebar of the graphic editor gives the user the option to configure the object properties according to the project requirements.
The process-display hierarchy can be derived directly from the equipment hierarchy and used unchanged in the Monitoring & Control runtime. In this way, the display hierarchy corresponds exactly to the plant hierarchy configured in the equipment hierarchy.
However, it is also possible to change the display hierarchy in the process-display hierarchy editor and thus adapt optimally to individual plant conditions.
