The fail-safe ET 200SP modules expand the range of the ET 200SP system family. They are incorporated seamlessly into the Safety Integrated concept as with ET 200S / ET 200M / ET 200pro / ET 200iSP / ET 200ecoPN and ET 200AL. They also support safety-related communication via PROFIsafe. The fail-safe modules for digital inputs and outputs (DI, DQ), analog inputs (AI) and technological inputs (TM) are the same size as the standard modules. Their functional safety is certified in accordance with IEC 61508. They are designed for safety-related use up to SIL 3 according to IEC 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849.
A special feature of the SIMATIC ET 200SP F-modules is the storage of the F-address in an electronic memory element. This enables simple module replacement in the spare part scenario. The F-address is automatically transferred when the new module is plugged in. This means that it is not necessary to set the F-addresses again. This concept simplifies the set-up process and saves time.
The SIMATIC ET 200SP fail-safe power module can be used for safety-related switch-off of groups of standard modules. Evaluation of the safety function is carried out either in the F-CPU or in the F-PM-E power module. This fast and direct group switch-off can be carried out up to SIL 2 / Pl d.
Totally Integrated Automation (TIA)
Safety technology (Safety Integrated) is a component of Totally Integrated Automation and provides total integration of safety automation and standard automation.
Whereas today, standard automation (conventional PLCs) and safety automation (electromechanics) are still separate, these two worlds are growing closer together to form one uniform, integrated overall system. Siemens is thus able to present itself as a complete supplier of automation technology, in which safety engineering is part of the standard automation and system-wide integration exists.
