The fail-safe ET 200MP modules expand the range of the ET 200SP/S7-1500 system family. They are incorporated seamlessly into the Safety Integrated concept as with ET 200SP/ET 200S/ET 200M/ET 200iSP/ET 200pro and S7-1200. Safety-related communication via PROFIsafe is also supported. The fail-safe modules for digital inputs and outputs (DI and DQ) and analog inputs (AI) are the same size as the 35-mm-wide standard modules. Their functional safety is certified in accordance with IEC 61508. They are designed for safety-related use up to SIL 3 according to IEC 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849.
One special feature of the F-modules of the SIMATIC ET 200MP is that the F-address is not set manually using the DIP switch on the module. The address is now assigned during commissioning using the engineering function. When a module is replaced, the F-address stored in the electronic coding element remains in the front connector. When a new module is inserted, it automatically receives the F-address from the coding element. New assignment of the F-address is therefore unnecessary. This new feature simplifies the set-up process and saves time.
Totally Integrated Automation (TIA)
Safety technology (Safety Integrated) is a component of Totally Integrated Automation and provides total integration of safety automation and standard automation.
Whereas today, standard automation (conventional PLCs) and safety automation (electromechanics) are still separate, these two worlds are growing closer together to form one uniform, integrated overall system. Siemens is thus able to present itself as a complete supplier of automation technology, in which safety engineering is part of the standard automation and system-wide integration exists.
