SCALANCE M industrial routers
Cell protection for remote access as well
For secure remote access and for implementing a cell protection concept in the fields of telecontrol, teleservice and for any additional use case within the scope of industrial remote communication, the SCALANCE M industrial routers always provide the right network components. Thanks to these components, remote machines or systems can be connected around the world to a central network or service center via public or private communication infrastructures such as mobile radio, ADSL, SHDSL or PROFIBUS/ MPI. Thanks to integrated encryption and access protection mechanisms, the devices also make a decisive contribution to the security of data communication. While the flexibly configurable firewall protects the connected machines or systems against unauthorized access, the integrated VPN functionality provides the capability of encrypting the data traffic and protecting it against manipulation and espionage. The components are generally optimized for industrial applications and are integrated accordingly in the TIA landscape for integrated engineering.
Wired connection to remote networks
The SHDSL and ADSL routers of the SCALANCE M product family support the cost-effective and secure connection of Ethernet-based subnets and programmable controllers. The connection can be made over existing private 2-core or stranded cables or wired telephone or DSL networks.
The SCALANCE M812-1 and SCALANCE M816-1 ADSL routers are designed for connecting to wired telephone or DSL networks, based on ADSL2+ (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line). This allows the devices to have downlink data transfer rates of up to 25 Mbps and uplink data rates of up to 1.4 Mbps.
The SCALANCE M826-2 is an SHDSL router for connecting via existing private 2-core or stranded cables and supports the ITU-T standard G.991.2. This gives the device high symmetrical data transfer rates of up to 15.3 Mbps per wire pair.
The SCALANCE M804PB is a PROFIBUS/MPI router for user-friendly remote access to PROFIBUS stations in the field without the need for additional adapters or software.
Wireless connection to remote networks
The wireless SCALANCE M industrial routers use the globally available, public mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G) for data transmission.
The SCALANCE M874-2 supports the 2G (GSM) data services GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution). This allows the devices to have uplink and downlink data transfer rates of up to 237 Kbps.
The SCALANCE M874-3 supports the 3G (UMTS) data service HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) and therefore enables high transfer rates of up to 14.4 Mbps in the downlink and up to 5.76 Mbps in the uplink.
The SCALANCE M876-3 supports 3G (dual-band CDMA2000 and UMTS data service HSPA+). This allows the devices to have downlink data transfer rates of up to 14.4 Mbps and uplink data rates of up to 5.76 Mbps.
The SCALANCE M876-4 supports 4G (LTE - Long Time Evolution) and therefore enables high transfer rates of up to 100 Mbps in the downlink and up to 50 Mbps in the uplink.
