Device hierarchy
The device hierarchy in the SIMATIC PCS neo process control system enables simple and optimized configuration of the entire system hardware. New innovative concepts will reduce your processing steps in the future and enable an optimal, realistic representation, despite the large quantity structure of SIMATIC PCS neo.
All configuration tasks can be performed via the component list interface. All devices down to the submodule are fully represented in the SIMATIC PCS neo component list in a structured manner. In this way, the uniform interface allows access to all parameters of the configuration down to the signal names of the individual input or output channels, which are already assigned at this point and may allow linking. In addition, the component list provides the option for topological assignment of the device. The topological assignment should correspond to the image of the plant structure and is linked directly with the graphical plant overview of the network view of SIMATIC PCS neo. A realistic, optimally arranged plant overview with the available networks is obtained fully automatically in this way.
Moreover, in addition to the component list and network view, the device hierarchy provides a logical view of the devices.
